Just replaced the center drag link on my 1971 VW super beetle because it had one broken end. Also replaced all the tie rod terminals and the ball joints. Now my the steering is very tough. When exiting a curve, the steering does no return to the center by itself, as it use to. Before this, the steering was very soft, just like a power steering. Can you help me identify the possible root couses. The only problem I had for installing the center drag link was to allign it between the steering gear link and the moving support link in the passenger side, so I had to force it in. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you. [email protected]

Me thinks you caused the problem forcing in the center link. Check that it is not binding. Jack up the car nab see if it all works with no load. Put it on a set is ramps with wheels under load and try again.you may Ned a bit of lube between ramps and tires
