I have been ‘away’ from my VW Diesel
Project for many years, went looking for
VWDieselParts forum….called West Union
Ohio chamber of commerce….J.W. Passed and
Business is no longer
Early on I followed that forum for several years, my health declined, my
diesel project was stored away. Recent years it was back on the road….
I am hoping someone knows where this forum might be
Archived.

Specifically, my diesel needs a valve adjustment, searching eBay, I haven’t found a kit or tools Plus, a recommendation of a reputable rebuilder of Bosch Injection Pumps would be helpful, or maybe a ‘DIY tutorial’….would be appreciated.

Back when I frequented that forum, a gentleman named Hagar was a real guiding light with his Hillbilly Tuning advice

Any Help Would Be Appreciatef

Thanx….Red. AND My Thanx To Everett Barnes

There’s plenty of repair shops, videos & how tos on how to rebuild/reseal the injection pumps, just search for Bosch VE pump rebuild.

The down & dirty for valve adjustment without the specialty tools is to measure the clearance on all valves & then remove the cam & then check the thickness on each shim & determine how much thicker/thinner it needs to be & order the necessary shim/s. However, I have rarely ever found a head that needed to be re-shimmed. Hell, send me $150 & I’ll send you my shim tool & all my shims, I haven’t used any of that shit in 25+ years.
