Thanks for re-posting this. Even the new level senders sold for $100 now seem to fail. I've returned one and have a busted one even after spending some time chatting with the gentleman who builds them.

I would have pulled my windows and taken care of the rust earlier. |
While I'm fond of saying no camping trip was ever harmed by seam rust, after 7 years I have one pr two seams that are finally starting to bug me. Regardless, everything I did instead to enable the van to bring me home safely after every trip over the last 60K miles has been better than calling AAA for a van that had a fancy paint job w/out seam rust. _________________ - Jim

had a brand new pair of GW super duper AMC heads wear an exhaust guide out in 10k miles, possibly from tight guide-to-stem clearance. knowing what i know now, but really didn't know enough then, i would buy new AMC heads and go thru them myself setting guide clearance, using upgraded valves, checking seat concentricity, and setting up high ratio rockers. but ya gotta pay tuition before learning these things.
Chris Corkins wasn't selling his refurbs at the time so that wasn't an option but is hands down where the smart money would be spent iff'n you didn't want to buy valve tools that exceed the cost of his heads. _________________ -dan

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |
