|
|
I have been searching many websites but I haven't been able to locate a source for the flaps that open and close to control heat to the rear footwell area for my 65 Beetle. I ordered these from cip1 for a Ghia but they are very oval and won't work.

Any help locating some would be appreciated! |

I need the same ones.. I looked around a little bit but didn't find any except for some used ones that I found in the classified that were pretty ratty. I really haven't looked since. But if someone knows a source, I'll be watching as well. |

Nice, 3 hits in 15min! Search is your friend. They appear difficult to find. Maybe a wanted add, modify the Ghia ones you got, or fabricate a pair. _________________ 1964 Sedan 6 volt |

Thanks for the links. The one on the Thing website doesn't exist any more. The used ones are 3 times what I paid for the Ghia ones so maybe I should look at trying to modifying them. The other problem with trying to search is they are called so many different things. Flap, valve, rear footwell duct, y-tube diffuser... |

Well looking at the photo located here
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=2030257
it looks as though they are supposed to be oval shaped even though the tube is round as they don't close down to a 90 degree angle inside the tube only about 45 degrees. I will have to play around with the ones I bought and report back. |

Just wanted to give an update to maybe help others as well. The one I had listed above from cip1 DOES work in a beetle also
