I wouldn't run a 1.9 any further than the local playground.
there's hills in them there woods..
and I do NOT enjoy the close up view of the front grill of dump trucks and semi's

played that 45mph up interstate grades game once... once.. fuq-dat

I don't go to kids playgrounds but what engine transmission combo are you running that is so awesome?

You might be surprised on what can be done with a stock 1.9 block and stock gearing you just need to move away from stock components to make it happen.

The way I see it, if I'm legally on a road and doing the legal minimum speed (if there is one) and "you" in your impatience hit me in the rear...... well, that's totally your fault.
Go ahead, hit me, I could use some serious retirement cash from you or your insurance company.

Agreed!

I drive for a living. My safety record is my livelihood. My van will run day and night at 4k rpm 70 mph, I can lock up all 4 wheels with stock brakes if I need to loaded with a 350 lb semi truck hitch on a full length arb steel roof rack and keep up with traffic just fine, even up hills and I'm not hitting anyone no matter how slow they are driving. My stock brakes will put you through the windshield.

2.1 from a 1.9 ain't all that great of a jump and if you were to ask me I would tell him to throw that 1984 fuel system in the trash and upgrade to a in tank fuel pump, close all air leaks, get some deoxit d5 and fader, Moly coat the throttle body do a good all day inspection on all systems including fuel quality and he may find out he don't need a upgrade and if he still wants to upgrade at least he'll know why!
