Hi everyone.

Finally got the '73 that I've been working on back from paint and I ran into a hiccup. Somehow, someway, a couple of the automatic shifter parts walked away. Specifically the two trigger grip pieces that go under the T handle and you pull up to disengage the lock.

I recognize those are terrible parts to lose especially with how uncommon automatics are to begin with.

Would anyone have any idea where to find replacements ones? Or pieces that would work in its place? I'd be tempted to buy a whole shifter if I had to.

Thanks.

do you mean the little white plastic roller bit that slides into the top of the hollow shifter shaft?

Not quite that. This is the only picture I have from the process and it's those plastic rectangle pieces to the left and right of the screwdriver. Those are the pieces you pull up on to release the latch for the shifter.

I don't recognize those; I don't believe they are used on the later automatics.
Do you have a picture of what sits in the top of the metal shifter shaft?
Maybe you can swap to the later style handle.

Pretty sure '73 is one year only.

It's a metal rod with a loop on the end. It's held in with a pin at the bottom. The two trigger pieces fit in the bottom of the T and you pull up on them to pull the metal rod that goes through the loop up.

It's part 37 here.I'm not sure the actual T can be removed from the shaft. It looks like it's all one piece so I'd need a later tube and the top assembly.

The diagram does look like the only difference is the direction the pin is knocked through and that might just be "artistic" liberties.

Would anyone happen to have a picture or measurements of what these parts are supposed to be? Looking like I'm going to have to fabricate something but all I have are those photos above.
