I hate the way you make it look so easy!
I am having fun having lots of issues. But it's okay because it's mine.
How nice is nice? Can't say but I always think I've spent so much time, what's a little more time anyway?
I have a nice jobber in town that is really helpful so I spend my $ there.
nothing important, just sayin

No pros here that I know of. I know I am not. Flux core welder from Home Depot, and tools from Harbor Freight and ebay. And time. Lots of time. _________________ 1968 Beetle (storage)

Another "barely an amateur, let alone Pro" here. Same as BpmberBob but with an Eastwood welder and bad eyesight. Kudos on the "it"s just time, my time" attitude. Keep at it and let us know how it goes. There are a few gifted craftsmen among us, however. Check out the TRS63: Restoration thread: my 60 strato blue coupe, and halbug: Ghia coming home, just to name a few.

I was really talking about the painting, but yes, time, practice, more practice and more time work wonders.
cheers

No paint pro either. Painted in my garage. Water based paint, then clear coat over that. This shows the orange peel. Wet sanded and buffed all that out.
I also used a Wagner Motocoat, instead of a traditional spray gun. _________________ 1968 Beetle (storage)

DYI in my makeshift booth. Only painted one car b4 this and that was 30yrs ago and this will be my 2nd. Took 2 attempts to get these fenders right. With what I have learned in the last couple weeks should be smooth sailing from here.
