Dear Members,
I am looking for a paint shop in Houston prefer in Southwest area to paint my Ghia. I got a quote from a small paint shop for about $4500 to paint inside and outside. I am thinking to take the car to Maaco near my house to see how much they will charge. Appreciate any input you can provide. Thank you. |

You will get a poor paint job from Maaco. They don't take any effort into detals, they just spray and go. _________________ The older I get... The faster I was... |

Does that include stripping the car and paint and materials? Are they going to just scuff and shoot or will they block and sand it? Are you sure there is no rust under bondo? If so that’s a good price assuming they use decent driver quality work.
One thing is for sure, when it comes to paint and auto body you are paying for time and the less you pay the less time they will put into it and the more disappointing the results in the long term. I can’t keep count of all the cars I’ve seen with shiny paint and rust bubbling up under it within a year because of crappy prep work. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Don’t know the state of your paint but a simple “correction” of mine did wonders:

Below are pictures for current condition of the car. We want to paint it in seal grey metallic color. We are somewhat tired of the red color. It looks like the car either had original color of green or orange. Overall the body shape of the car is not that bad. Again, appreciate any information for paint shops in Houston Southwest area if possible. Thank you.
