No, Not 253. The car is the real deal but lost it's body nr long time ago. It is a feb or march 50 heb and has to be in the 680 body nrs(+ or - 10) but impossible to tell exactly. There was a clue on the car but I was not able to find the missing link.

If the Heb looks like this, I can only imagine what they are planning to do to the Barndoor 23 that they are building on the show....

I watched it last night and I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. First of all they put it on an irs pan and hacked it up so they could throw in an automatic from a Vanagon. I can't believe they did that why not learn to drive a stick is beyond me. I mean it's one thing to lower one and put disc brakes but not really change anything incase you want to go back stock which I have seen a few guys do but dang. I'm really not that impressed with his style.

Did you watch the first episode? They explained everything there. Would you have preferred they did that to the original pan?

exactly. this is a customer spec'd build. They did separate it from it's original pan and restored it stock. it can be re-united if a future owner wants to do that.

IRS chassis is the one that gets the automatic transmission.

Personally, i would not do that, but then again, i don't have a heb to begin with....
