In an effort to save the door, which was dented and bent slightly outward, can this be fixed. Thoughts and ideas for straightening it out. Pre 66 doors are getting harder to find. Thanks for your input.

Yes, it can be saved. I just did this exact dent removal(90% done) You are looking at a couple full days of metal bumping and shrinking. It is very difficult to get to the area above the trim due to the inner door frame. It will cut your time in half if you have the skills to cut some of the inner frame away and weld back in so you can work out the dent/crease. Very tight fit for tools and your hands in between outer door skin and inner frame.

I always recommend people wanting g to do body to pick up a copy of thr book: "The key to Metal Bumping" by Frank T. Sargent. First published in 1939 and the final revision published in 1953. It is a text book on how to do body work with hammers and dolly.

Is the inside frame bent? At a shop it wouldn’t be worth the labor to repair.
