I need some advice on where to start. I have a 2332 bug with WEBER dual 48 IDF's. 044 heads. It's jetted for a much higher altitude than I am. I purchased the car from Colorado and now it's on Long Island. Basically at sea level. It's way to rich. It currently has 140 mains, 185 air corrections and 50 idle jets.
Zero bog or stumble. Just a sooty tailpipe and smells on the rich side. Suggestions??
Thank you. |

Should be the other way…less air at altitude equals smaller fuel jets
So when bringing to Seal Level you should need to increase jet sizes
50 idles seem way small |

Don’t you just love the wild a$$ guesses on jetting when the OP doesn’t even say at what the engine RPM or load is? Never mind a plug color check or AFR reading… _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. 50 idle sounds really lean for the application.
Usually end up at 60-65 idles for a motor like that.
Mains seem small too. She should want at least a 150 main.
What emultion tubes are you running?
Richness you smell might just be the mixture screws needed adjusted. |
