Help. My uneducated guess is that this is an old power converter in my 1970 Campmobile. Maybe for the fridge? It is located on the slope where the Westie bed gets bolted.

I would like to know what is is, what it did, and what I should replace it with.

This newbie thanks you in advance.

Sure looks like one, maybe open it up to see if there's a schematic inside the cover, or model numbers you can Google.

Disconnect power first of course.

Says "Suburban manufacturing company, Dayton Tenn. "

Theyre still open. Lookem up. Looks like they make RV stoves, heaters, water heaters, etc.

Could be a control of some kind.

I agree - open it up and see if you can find a part number or something.

Good luck

Looks like a transformer to me. They convert 120 AC house current to 12-13 volt DC current. The ones used in rhe mid 70's Westfalias put out about 5 amps DC to power the fridge. They are not very high tech like the current power converters. Look for a model number on the outside or possibly the inside of the unit.

What do you have for appliances? Maybe a fridge or furnace. That will help us with some recommendations.
