Tents are the “affordable” gateway drug to camping. Some of these newer tents and setups are priced pretty high, especially on the lightweight gear hiking gear. _________________ 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia "Von Westy"

I even thought I might see a VW Westy or two.
But nope, except for one tear drop trailer it was all tents!
The tent is still alive and well!

Would this have counted?

Well, I was on Cape Cod this weekend, and I saw several van conversions on the road and also in the state campground. There was also a pop-top Eurovan not far from me in camp and I saw Two Vanagon Westies while driving and one in someone's driveway. Also a tin-top at the beach. For a trip of less than 200 miles & 2 days...and in the East - that a fair amount of VW van sightings-five!
I also saw at least two Sprinters, or other GWLV (generic white large van) with tradesman's name on it that was being used as a camper for the weekend in my area of the campground.
I was commenting to my wife that finally, Americans are embracing camper vans and small trailers.
We had both a Westy and a Tent on out site. _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

I guess I was expecting to see a photo full of tents. What gives Dave? _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |
