looking at minor upgrades for my SB this winter. Looking at putting on 88mm jugs, maybe some mild heads, and 1.25 rockers.

Fueling is the thing I am not sure about. I am considering doing the Holley sniper EFI, but will probably try some carbs first.

There are so many options, and I don't know what works best. Just want drivability and easy starting in all temps over pure performance.

I don't want dual 2 barrel carbs. Had that once, don't feel like messing with it on this mild of an engine.

So, here are all the options I am finding. Just need some feedback on what is easiest to tune, and drive.

1. Single 2 barrel carb, like the EMPI Single 40 HPMX Carb Kit - https://www.jbugs.com/product/47-7315.html

2. 32/36 progressive carb, like EMPI Progressive 32/36F Single, 2 Barrel Carb Kit - https://www.jbugs.com/product/47-0622.html

3. 2 barrel synchronous carb, like EMPI 38EGAS Single Carburetor Kit - https://www.jbugs.com/product/47-0628.html

4.Dual 34 EPC 1 barrels - EMPI Dual 34 EPC Carb Kit - https://www.jbugs.com/product/47-7411.html

5.Dual 35 mm solex - https://scatvw.com/product/economy-solex-35mm-carb-kit-with-electric-choke/

6. Duel 40mm solex - https://scatvw.com/product/super-dual-carburetor-kit/

7. Dual weber 34mm ICT - https://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/6428.htm

With all these options, i am totally confused what is the best options.

Any advice would be super helpful

Stick with a single Solex 34PICT-3. I've heard that people are enlarging the 34PICT-3 for more performance.

BTW.. slip in 88s are not the best option.

How are they enlarging them? I was planning on the thick wall 88mm that requires a bored head. Do you recommend something else without splitting the case?

Slip bottom-machine top 88 kits are good. Just avoid the ones that fit stock heads really.

I wouldn't use any of the above listed carbs, especially not a center mount two-barrel or progressive. As stated above, the single 34-3 with an enlarged venturi would be a good option, but it's a little advanced unless you're down for some more high level tuning.

If you are married to the idea of single barrel carbs, I would do these kits before any others-
