Maybe they updated their software to recognise non EU !SP addresses. And $45 Euros is still only $52- not $75, although that was a good educated guess. I just checked my last invoice and they charged me 40 euros shipping. |
I'd guess that it's shipping address because I use a VPN so the IP address wouldn't work.
A 5€ price increase on shipping isn't bad!
I just ordered the Bluetooth version - should have it in a week - looking forward to getting it installed! |

Thanks gents. I appreciate the discussion and the feedback. And Ray's last post really hits my interest in this, although I never really said it. I’d like to have a reasonably well functioning stock distributor that is authentic to the car simply for the purpose of being a good steward for this piece of history. The unit I have still functions - the car runs pretty well with it actually - but I’m going to run the 123 Ignition for daily driving which will allow me to take my time with the original and make it better. I am appreciative of this community of people who share these interests. No way that someone like me could do it without you. |
I completely agree with this approach. Original parts kept with the car add historical value in two ways- first, because they are still with the car they came with, and second, they can be an historical record for others in that, over the years, part substitutions are made that become revised truth... especially since there aren't a lot of ORIGINAL non- revised parts books out there anymore. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! The Porsche racing crowd loves the Bluetooth. They are nice on a street car, too, but overkill on a stock VW unless you have engine mods, then you can program it how you want it. I tried to talk Clatter into one for his beautiful parts car but he'd rather spend way more money for less versatility! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I'm at a point where it'll be useful to have for engine tuning. Stock engine went to Pedro years ago and I (sometimes) regret that sale because with that engine went the simplicity of a stock set up. Oh well, onward and upward! I tried to talk Clatter into it as well...you know how those Fastback guys are! |

These can be rebuilt but they require more precision than any other distributor. Any issues in the quality will reverberate throughout the whole EFI system. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]
