nice results, but I want to keep patina - surface rust
I consider faded dove blue / surface rust best two tone bus combination
I just want to inhibit rust on worst places like rear lower corners
and just conservate it somehow without impacting OG paint |
What a nice Barndoor, I love the orginality of it.
I get your preference for patina but personally I would definitely try to get rid of that creeping surface rust on a bus as nice as this one. Rust never sleeps and it will slowly keep eating away your original paint and metal. There will be enough patina left once you've washed it away with CLR and protected the paint with a good wax(oil) or something suitable after a gentle and careful polish.
A long time ago a friend treated the surface rust on the paint and the chrome of an old Honda motorbike. It still looks nice today while another bike that was in the same barn has completely rotten away now 25 years later. |

do not worry , I will enjoy rough patina and faded paint for short while
and then will treat places with most rust by rust inhibitor and wax whole car
to preserve it even thou it means change from nice faded paint to more shiny and more blue color as it was from factory |

That sounds good and wise! I love the work you did on this barndoor, it would be a shame to loose it's beauty. |
