Hey hey!

Just picked up a mid-engine swing axle rail buggy. Seller says 2nd gear is “blown out”. This is supposedly a Rhino case (I don’t know a lot about these). I have a reportedly good mid engine trans I picked up from another guy. I’ll get more info in the next few days, but I have a few questions.

Rebuild Rhino case with spare trans internals?
Run the spare?
How do I determine what gears are in either? I can count ring and pinion teeth for that one.
How to tell if the internals are even interchangeable?

Sorry to be so ignorant here. Ive built cars for years, but not much VW experience and very little manual trans experience. I’ve rebuilt domestic automatic transmissions and a Ford T5.
