Hey guys. On a nice day this past weekend I opened my Eurovan sunroof... Bad Idea, lol, now it won't close.
All my internet searches led me to the crank method but this sunroof motor doesn't have a spot for a crank. See attached picture.

The motor will try and turn if I press the open button but stops since its all the way back. If I try pressing close it does nothing. Doesn't even sound like its trying to turn.
I took the button off and tried jumpering the ground and close wire... no luck there either.
Any other ideas you guys have?
Thanks!

I should also add.... the sunroof leaks and has no drain lines so I've been thinking about sealing it anyway or adding a drain. |

Do you have the tool? Mine was in the cover. Anyway, that middle part pushes in with a little bit of pressure and you can turn it. Maybe just a large flat screw driver would work if you do not have the tool? Maybe pushing in that center part releases it from the electric motor? I don't know. _________________ Mark

Oh nice. I'll give it a try. I tried pushing it in but I'll try pushing harder |

Unfortunately this is a no go. I do not have the tool as the last owner must have lost it. I tried pressing into the center of the wheel. It will not budge. Thinking this tool must flush fit into the notch.
@soissisc
Can you confirm that you have the same motor? I know they shipped different versions in these Eurovans.
Any way you can take a picture of it so I know what I'm looking for? I'm trying to find one online.
Thanks! |

I can get you a picture. It was a bit stiff to push that in. _________________ Mark

@Soissisc
I found a big flat head and forced it in there. You were right... just stuck. Was able to get it turned and closed.
Thanks for the help! No picture required now. |

Here is what the tool looks like. It lives in the cover over the motor. It takes a little bit of force to get it in the slot (this disengages the electric motor from the gear, I believe). You can then crank the sunroof open or closed by hand. Once you remove the tool, you need to jog the switch get the motor to engage with the gear again.

It seems like you could use a large flat screwdriver that is about as wide or smaller than the tool. _________________ Mark
