Vent window latch colour

Hi all,

I am putting the cab door tops together on my 1956 RHD PGSG standard. I believe the vent window latches should be black. What I would like to know is whether the little bit of the latch that shows on the outside should be left black or painted palm green like the rest of the window frame?

Black. The whole latch is black.

Double Cab but same idea - outside is black, not paint Sealing Wax Red

Yep, the latch itself is black with the chrome button release. This is my ‘67 Westy.

Should also mention that a '56 takes the early style vent latch with the more squared off profile on the arm. All those pictured are the late '57-'67 style.
