That is typical, just over the weekend. Some arrive early and/or stay later. I will be there early most likely.

In 2021 we had a three day weekend in the fall. That was not usual.

Typically, reservations were for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. People arrived starting on noon Thursday. I would arive on Monday and camp at Horsethief campground for a few days.

Yes. This should be a three night event. May be Fri-Mon instead of the usual Thurs-Sun.

I'm in. Thankfully, the border is now open. It's been a loooong wait.

Casually have looked at posts about Syncro meet ups and have yet to actually attend one... what should a rookie expect?

I love solstice, it's a gathering of like minded people...
It's also a drivers event ranging from walk in the park, mild to wild and things in between. Lone Mesa camp is also broken into sundowner, midnighters and all nighters. It's easy to find your groove-

People from all over show up. The evening is gathered around food, conversations, maybe a CV repair clinic or some other vanagon issue. Laughs and great stories and wonderful people. Certainly worth the drive!

Vendors? As in food? Especially coffee pre-made in the mornings and roving bloody Mary hawkers? Maybe I should stop hoping that's a musical festival for newly broke or perpetually broke syncro owners Wink

There is a food plan that is awesome. Coffee and breakfast and dinners too! No vendors. We all pitch in to cook. The event has all the equipment and supplies the food (of course you pay for it with the meal plan if you choose to partake.)

Honestly sounds brilliant... what if a friend showed up and his filler was closer to the front wheel than the rear?

2WD vans are welcome... a number of drives are 2WD-doable. There's also recreation activities if you prefer... last time I attended, I didn't do drives other than to mountain bike trails.

I have been going for 5 years with my 2WD westy from Maryland. All are welcome.

That's really amazing. Could be the best camp spot I have ever seen.
