I found a very nice set of Tiguan alloys for a song for my van, but the rear wheels require different center caps to cover the axle nut protrusion.

So I fired up the CAD software and remixed an existing center cap to be the correct size and extend it to over the castle nut properly.

It clicks in nicely, and holds well, but I added a smear of black RTV to be certain.

I used high-build primer and black Rustoleum paint for finishing.

It's on Thingiverse here, feel free to download and print them yourselves:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5155359

(Thingiverse is acting a bit funny, if you don't see the page try again tomorrow, I cant fix it).

I'm currently waiting on a VW logo sticker to put on the end.

Good save, looks like Abe Lincolns hat though. It would look a little less of an Add on if maybe it was painted to match the wheels.
I do like it when owners go the extra mile to clean up the loose edegs.

Those sure are nice wheels. What size are they?

Yeah, I know, I may redesign them in the future, but its much better than the castle nut hanging out. The VW logo stickers will be here in a few days, that'll help them blend a bit better.

Retail is probably a great deal more than that. I got them for $400 including decent rubber (which I've transplanted to my moms Montana) from a speed shop near my house. One wheel has some paint issues, but they're structurally great.

There, the emblem stickers finally arrived:

They're self-adhesive, but I gave them a smear of sealant to augment the tape.

Is that how far out they have to stick?

With my configuration, pretty much. I could maybe shave a mm or two, but I pronounced it good enough.

The precise amount the castle nut will stick out will depend on the brakes and any spacers installed.

I forgot to take one. The STL file is linked above, you're more than welcome to modify it as you like.
