Did they ever make a bee catcher fresh air vent or something similar for the '68 through '79 beetles? Particularly the convertible?
Or at least something I could modify slightly? I don't usually drive on the highway with my top down, but would love a bit more of a breeze in the car.
Just curious. _________________ 1969 VW Beetle Convertible |

Sorry, I should have been a bit more descriptive. I was looking for something that attaches to the window, similar to the bee catchers of past.
60ragtop - the scoop you showed is for the front fresh air intake. While that might pull in more air, since my vents point up at the windshield, they really don't cool me very well. Was there ever an accessory that attached to those vents that directed the air towards the passengers? That might help.
And I know, I have window vents, but if I turn enough to hit me, then it is such a large blast of air at highway speeds.
I know, I drive a vintage car, so maybe I am asking a bit much. _________________ 1969 VW Beetle Convertible |

Thanks for clarifying
Never saw one for a vert. Have you tried experimenting with the rear windows and vent windows?
How about maybe making some clear deflectors of some sort for the air vent and a scoop on the cowl intake.
Maybe try a sedan bee catcher and making something out of plastic? to take up the extra gap? _________________ Rick

The original bee-catchers were made only for bugs with the vertical vent wing channel and no fresh air. Demand may have tanked when VW first improved the vent wings and a year later added defrost _________________
