With hopes of combatting a cold start issue, I ordered a couple Bosch Temp II sensors to replace the 30+ year old one I used to replace the original. Seems like it's the right move. which is great, however, I've got a leak coming from the T-stat housing at the sensor. Is this guy supposed to have a washer on there to seal properly? The salvaged oldie I was running did not, but I'm looking at photos and it seems that some do and some do not. I'm really trying to not crank down so hard that I crack the housing.

thanks.

Yes there should be an aluminum crush washer on it. I don't remember the size off hand but just take it to your local parts store and grab one that fits.

M12x1.5, so the washer is 12mm.

You can often get crush washers from the fastener section of a hardware store. You will need to spend a few minutes walking the aisles and perusing all the little boxes to find them.
