Today's photo location is the Naval base in Alameda, California following a cars and coffee refresh / starting point. The seven cars are members of the NorCal Karmann Ghia Enthusiasts Club, many sporting Cal-look details, but also classic style. The most interesting aspect is the range of ride heights and stances that can be compared in a couple shots (using pinch-zoom in browser). Incredible backdrop ...

One more close up to compare progression of standard -> forward rake and various degrees of lowered suspension.

Would your car be the third one in line there? And if so, did you have it at the 41st Ave. C&C a couple of weeks ago? Not that many Ghias here in Santa Cruz, and I saw a similar car there at the time.

3rd Karmann in line (burgundy) was picked up by a very savvy lady with extreme negotiation skills. It is a retirement present that we're gonna tune a little (quiet down, bring more in line with standard specs, install missing tin, balance carbs, etc.) ... she came up to Alameda with a wonderful friend - they are both excited to begin their adventures in the new Ghia. The lines are amazing, and customization is just starting - the meet was used as a springboard for future ideas.

Overall, I couldn't imagine a better set of folks, warm attitudes, and helpful hands. A+

Mines the restomod on the very end - you'll see it everywhere along the California coast and silently humming down the Santa Cruz twisties en route to/from Alice's Restaurant.

Looking from the other end of the line-up (picture vertical / horizontal alignment messed up) .. gives you another perspective.
