In the 70's I was fortunate enough to own 2 356's, a '53 bent windshield coupe and a '59 Reutter bodied cabrolet. I've always been puzzled by the bench front seat of the cab. I can only find reference to the bench being a Speedster only option. Another oddity is that the actual part of the seat that the driver and passenger sat on was sort of a wide whale cordaroy material while the rest was leather. |

I have one in my 59 cab project car, sorry no pics at this time, this car is in deep storage. I hadn't thought it was a Speedster item, I thought it was more of a coupe/cab item. They only made one version which was a "fat" back style, similar to the standard seat backs of the early A cars. Believe there's some mention of them on the 356 Registry. |

Mike Malamut has a 1955 Continental coupe in his collection with a bench seat. I don't recall ever seeing a Speedster with these seats installed as Speedsters were considered "race" cars and bench seats would not be optimal for that purpose for obvious reasons. |
