So, in my re-upholstery efforts, I did not notice the placement of the back spring. I sort of think I know, but just am not sure. Does the top back wire of the seat spring go in front or back of the top bar of the seat. As in Option 1? or Option 2?

UPDATE: Answered my own question
So, after stepping away and recovering from a sneezing fit from the seat dust, I figured it out. It is Option 2.
I think I will take more pictures when I do the driver seat in a few minutes. Then post a more thorough step by step. The Type 3 seat is not like how I remember Type 1 seats. I am doing three things which me in placement and install.
1. Strip all the old upholstery off and build up the sagging spots with high density foam. I am still keeping the original felt and fiber strands, but using the foam to help provide a better, more original contour.
2. Stretching and blocking some of the sagging side edge springs.
3. Use the original upholstery stretching bar and support rods. I remember not using them when I did the Type 1 years ago and regretted it later.
Upholstery bar and support rods are important after all. It is the vinyl stretching and getting the upholstery on the prongs the hardest part of all.

it's option 1 , the spring frame is attached to the fromt of the seat frame, otherwise your seat back springs are useless.

Unfortunately no, That wire rail is what the back fiber holds onto. And the sprung flat steel slides into slots all around the bar. There is a slot visible in this pictures.
