These photos are from January 9 2022. Great to see progress happening.

The oval rear window clip came from a Canadian standard Bug thus no headliner clamping strips. Bought some new ones made by Auto Craft in the UK and had the shop install them for me :

I also decided to go the extra mile and have them body work and smooth out all 4 of the inner fender wells. There was a fair amount of cutting and welding that had taken place in these areas with replacement panels etc.
I could have gone with textured paint but I wanted these areas to look nice. The backsides of the fenders will get the textured / rock chip paint.

And bummer! This is what happens when road salt sits on fresh powder coating for almost a year! It eats away like acid. Both outer edges of my beautiful floor pan have rust breaking out Mad The shop owners said no worries. They will grind away, mask and spray the edges in black for me. This should have never of happened and now it'll cost me more money. Welcome to building cars. If it's not one thing it's another.

Following this thread, now I've read through it. You're doing some great work
A friend of mine over here in the UK has a similar project going on.

1972 Bug that was previously chopped, now having a clip from an Oval fitted. Lights were also 'frenched' on it, but plenty of bondo to get out Laughing

Actually, it's the body shop that's killing it. I'm just paying the bills Surprised which is now adding up to an insane amount of money. A zillion hours have been spent making it straight as an arrow. To be painted black, is has to be absolutely perfect or any flaws will show.

March 21 2022 they are onto final blocking. You can see the guide coats :
