Dumb question, are both brake light switches the same/interchangeable?
I am sorting through brake light issues and when ohming them out they appear to behave differently. One is normally closed on the vertical pins and one is normally open..
This is on a 68 square but the wiring has been mucked with. |

They are supposed to be the same. For a while back in the 20teens, it was found that wrongly wired from the manufacturer switches were sold. Don't know IF they ever fixed this issue or not, but that's what it sounds like you've got (a bad replacement switch).
I believe someone on here found a Harley Davidson switch that replaces ours is available, but I don't know what the part number is for it. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thanks. From what I can tell, the PO had build an electrical house of cards. When I got the car everything worked electrically now not so much. Everything I 'fix' quashes his work-arounds. |
