of course there were a lot of parts missing. the complete interior, headlights, rear lights, side windows, doors handles, sunvisors, seats and a lot more...
so a lot of detective work on finding all the correct parts from that time...
let´s start with the headlights...

the "manual" said, headlights from a 66/67 ford 15 mP6. the ugliest ones you can imagine.
or as an alternative double round ones from a nsu prinz tt/tts. nowadays very expensive and not easy to get...
so i decided to stay on german parts from vw. i got a brandnew set of headlights from a type 411/412 for a fair price.
the front grill seems to be from a toyota celica or some other japanese car. it is cut here and there to fit into the front end of the bonanza gt. looks good to me so i decided to use it on the car, because of the same time period. otherwise you would have nothing between the front headlights...

the rear end of my bonanza gt had six ugly holes for the lights from a fiat 128 3p.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

certainly a no go for me! the rear end of the bonanza gt is pretty small, so i decided to get some other lamps than the ones from a bmw 2002, a fiat 850 coupé or a karmann ghia type 34. i wanted to have the rear end looking a little bit wider.
on my search for it i got the idea to use some lights from a car with rounded corners on the outside and found them on a fiat 850 spider, build from 65 to 71. unluckily they were used on a lamborghihi miura 1.series too!!
you can imagine the prices for them...
luckily one of my customers is doing in lambos and ferraris and helped me with a used set of glasses to first have a look if it looks good on the car...and it did very well!!

Cool car! Tail lights remind me of a line from "Deadman's Curve" by Jan & Dean:

... All the Jag' could see were my 6 tail lights ...

Space between head lights could be whatever you like, but I'd go with a tubular grille because of the one I got from JC Whitney for my '57 Chevy:

That was the inspiration for the home made grille on my buggy:

I taped cardboard over the rear to cover the six holes, then fixed the glasses with tape too. just to have a plain surface with no holes to get an idea how it looks...

Indeed!
We think that there are only around 23 cars left!
Two of them have never ever been built up, so they are NOS.

As you can see, the Chassis is from a Type 3 with a 54 HP Motor.
Of course there will be a complete new build up. Powdercoating of all metal sheets surrounding the motor, all other steel parts like screws, washers, nuts, etc. will be yellow zinc plated.

Rear Deck Lid work.
Three ugly and Not original openings were Cut in from one of the previous owners .

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

To get that original look, i closed them by handlaminating some fiberglass mats onto the inside of the hood. and the modified hood hinges are from a british mini cooper door until 69:

And this is what it looks like from the outside:

Next step was to add some fiberglass putty on the outside. Then some sanding and a fine layer of normal putty was added:

Again sanding and then a layer of etch primer:

The interior of my Bonanza GT.
The three small instruments in the curved dashboard will go into the trashbox, the holes will be closed the same way as the rear hood.

This shall be the car in the near future; the shown car is one of the first with another door hinges system (very difficult to adjust the door) and the 5th tire in the back of the car is attached on the right side of the rear "luggage compartment".
