I decided to go the Lemmerz way!!

I had several 4,5" wheels on Stock, so i took the best ones and sandblasted them. After that i applied an etch primer.
Next was a coat of silver Basic. Then masking everything with tape. Spraying some dull black and.removing the tape.

The same procedure was done for the rear wheels in 5,5".
Here some Pics of the working process:

not as every bonanza gt...
the very early ones had a different door hinge mechanism. i will change from the new back to the old one by using door hinges from a mg midget.
pic will follow
therefore i have to change the "a-pillar"/front fender.
using the original ones was a dead end, because they were worn out, shabby and they looked so... cheap.
pic will follow
let me see what i can do on that....

one thing that i noticed the very first day when picking up the car was the strange dash...
the left side was curved, but the right side was going straight.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

uncommon and by the way not the most beautiful way to do that.
so i decided to make a curve in the dashboard!
using thin cardboard to make the curves was the easiest way to go. here taped to let the glue dry...

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

this morning i could continue. adding some fiberglass bondo, let it dry, then smoothing it with an angle grinder. removing the dust, then adding some fine putty.
here is what it looks like now:

paint research; because the heater channel/chassis "cover" is copied from a lamborghini miura, i thought to look for the paint jörgfrieder kuhnle had choosen for this photo shoot car back in the end of the sixties.

and guess what; after a call to my local paint shop, they found the original mixture for the 1967 miura called "arancio miura".
the shop made me 250 ml to get it painted on a sheet metal to look if it is the same... i think i don´t need to do this anymore!

colour found!
