I know there are after-market 110 volt connectors out the for Westies. But does anyone know where I can get the original base plate for this configuration. I'm just missing the outlying "ring" (flat plate on the perimeter shown here).

I've been looking for that for awhile and all I can come up with is used parts.

I don't believe you can really find much any information about the old "Unicorn Industries RV15" on the internet really..

You can buy "reproduction" stickers... but I use that term loosely.. since whoever is making them doesn't seem to have even a fundamental understanding of basic typography. Maybe too much time in a roles acting as creative director with graphic designers has me hypersensitive, but the font is so incorrect on the repro decals it's horrifying to me.

I kinda gave up on keeping that part original when I finally go bananas on redoing my camper.

PM me, I have an extra one....

As a teaching electrician please make sure you plug into a ground fault circuit interrupter outlet or provide your own. 110-125 volts may not seem like much but will kill you dead. The biggest issue is the lack of a ground to neutral reference from shore power. Inline GFCI cords are not very expensive. But if you have protected shore power do not use them as you may loose protection. They make testers that are cheap and reliable to test protection.

yes - especially if you pee out the door one night, and the car is hot. You'll get the shock of your life.

naa - the heart won't be involved. You'll be numb from your privates down to your toes for the rest of your life, and have very curly hair too. Laughing

Of course if one is swinging like a monkey with one hand from the roof line, or standing on the rubber mat with one hand on the door then it might have a different outcome. Confused

OMG - electricity always takes all the paths that are available to it, at least in this reality. If someone wants to die being a giant capacitor they can do that too.

That said, go to any campground in the US where VW buses are involved and you will find buses with three or four old extension cords, missing grounds, with worn jackets, taped with some weird tape tied together to bring power to the buses. The puppy will be chewing on the wire as some guy stumbles around looking for his joint or beer. You might do it right, I might do it right, but many won't no matter how many times they are warned. I've done all my home wiring upgrades, and there is a permit for each one, and it was signed off the first time. Even so when we had all the insulation out in the attic to upgrade it, I hired a licensed electrician to go thru the whole 40 year old house looking for any issues or things that needed upgrading. Lighten up on me please.

You should not be home wiring shore power if you need to ask for advice on the internet. Look for parts, fine.. but if you don’t have a firm grasp of the task, get a pro.

I agree with that statement, I also believe you can test and verify without a licence or certification to protect your life.

Good luck. Hell you are lucky to find someone to do anything more than an oil change or brakes these days and you are waiting weeks for that.

You mean that people will actually will come to your house to work on something, excepting those who are first generation here? What a novel idea. When was that invented?
