I am finishing off both tonneau cover and k14 turbo conversation and in my down time (yeah right) I'm looking into installing/upgrading my 83 diesel p/u?) Gas gage set up with tach. I believe it was out of a "sport truck" I sold. I was hoping to get a mk1/2 gurus input on things related

I.E.
are they more or less plug and play?

Can I take the tach signal from the alternator? (As my add on after market gage does)

Any other issues?

Just installing a tach in a gas engine pickup. If I recall, it was a plug n play.

I know, not much help.

Thanks, beyond me, but this could be very helpful if I could find some sort of gauge rebuilder,

This is based off of revamping a gasser tach, right? What about the actual diesel tach? Is it capable of plug n play into my diesel o.e. cluster @ the Clock space?

I do think that one is your better path. Just try to stay with the same supplier so your life will might be easyer (VDO looks like what you have). Here in Europe, at that time it could have been MotoMeter and VDO.

And since your truck is diesel, you are overlooking the Glow Plug light that is missing on the Gasoline cluster too.
