I pulled the rear view mirror and it was dry and dusty behind it, so I think I can rule out condensation. And I suspected the squirters (and antennae for that matter) of leaking and contributing to water behind the dash and in the heater channels in the door jambs, but that seems to have stopped with a little RTV sealant to both the squirter and antennae seals along with applying roof/shingle and flashing silicone to the sides and bottom of the windshield seal (both under the seal against the body and a little smeared to glass - rubber edge for good measure. I have yet to 'seal' the top side of the windshield but will as soon I get a couple of dry days (its very much the rainy season here in Anchorage so that might not be until spring). No signs of water around the visor today after driving in the rain, by the way. <shrugs shoulders> _________________ '73 Super Beetle (resto-mod/rally look, 1776)

I replaced my whole front windshield and seal, just to keep finding water on the floor by the pedals. It was the window squirter. _________________ 83 Air-cooled 2.0 Tin Top

Could it be rooftop condensation?
If environmental conditions are “the same” maybe find a way to check if the roof skin is wet on the underside.
Can you check by removing a courtesy light? _________________

That's pretty much the only thing I can think of. Driving forced water past the old and shrinking rubber along the top of the windshield and then in through a rusty spot under the seal.
About a month ago I "sealed" the lower 3/4 of the windshield rubber using roof/shingle caulk to stop water getting in behind the dash (I know, I know, but its just temporary! I have a new seal and am just waiting on a new windshield to put it on and repair any rust while its all out). I must have stopped the water from making its way under the seal to the bottom of the windshield and instead pool up near at the top and leak inside there instead. Time to break out the caulk gun again. _________________ '73 Super Beetle (resto-mod/rally look, 1776)

Here's one for you to ponder over: As I got into my van to drive home after work yesterday, there was a very small puddle (maybe 5-10ml / <1 tbsp) on the rubber floormat next to the shifter. At first I thought I might've spilled some water from a bottle or something, but then noticed a drip from the driver's side sun visor clip. There were a few more drops on the back side of the visor itself (that fell on me while driving home) but that seems to be the extent of it. I couldn't really tell if the headliner material was wet, but it is a possibility. I had driven for a few miles in light rain earlier in the day and was parked in a very very slight nose-down attitude so I guess its possible that any water that leaked anywhere in the van higher up that the visor may have found its there, but this is definitely the first time I've seen this and definitely not the first time I've driven in the rain and parked in this exact spot. I'm still working on my first cup of coffee so haven't yet ventured out to see if there have been any more drips in the night or to search for possible points of ingress, but would love to hear any ideas on where to look or how that's even possible on a tin top with zero rust in the rain gutters or roof sheetmetal.
Thanks
P.S. No, the van doesn't have air conditioning _________________ '73 Super Beetle (resto-mod/rally look, 1776)
