|
|
Hello, I've got a 1200cc that I'm building to be a 1385cc, and I was wondering what mechanical advanced distributor would work best with my set up.
My current set up is 1200 with the 1385cc big bore kit with a set of 1300cc cylinder heads on the jugs, I will be running dual single barrel Weber 34 ICT's, I will be keeping the stock cam (.285 on the intake .295 on the exhaust) but I will be putting a set of 1.25 rockers on it. I was wondering if a 010 distributor would work or is there a better option? Any information is greatly appreciated! |

An 010 is what's been used in the past.
Anything else would not be period correct _________________ Glenn

I've had good results using an 019 Glenn rebuilt for me. Running 1.1/1 rather than 1.25 - Valves are not big on these heads. _________________ 1964 Beetle

They're designed for Type 4 engines. _________________ Glenn

I ran an 019 screamer, an 022, then an BR25 /010 .
. Of those choices the 010 WITH a pertronix was the best without question on my 1386. I've always been of the opinion that points are fine, and pertronix was a solution to a problem that didn't exist in these engines.
But, I will say it runs very noticeably smoother compared to points. _________________
