Are you going to switch the carbs over from your old motor?
Gonna be a chore getting another fuel line thru the tunnel,
As well as working out how to get the later FI tank into the early car.
Not that FI doesn’t work well,
But that’s a carbureted car, right? _________________ Bus Motor Build

So I gathered up what could possibly be needed to put carbs on new motor, is there something that I don’t need or something else I need.

Just a heads up, you don't want to run those metal type 1 intake manifold gaskets, as they'll cause a vacuum leak. You're better off getting thick paper or something like that instead. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

you only need the phenolic piece once, it's to keep the heat from soaking in the carb.
I've never ran either one with stock or aftermarket carbs. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/jim_martin_engine_build.php

I bought a synchronizer and did not get the adapter to use with my stock carbs, this is what I found in my leftover plumbing parts. They are under $7 at Lowe’s. The size is perfect when you have the rubber seal for the air cleaner on.

I’ve been working out some electrical gremlins, when I put the turn signal on the green light flashes only one time and goes off but the the lights continue to work as the should. Any suggestions. |

IF all the bulbs work then its likely the turn signal relay or something going on with the turn signal it self. In my Square the relay sometimes sticks and I can also get the arm to go "too far" and it just wont turn the signal on. I've learned to deal with it for the time being, its like playing an old piano. |

Took the fastback out yesterday for its spring maiden voyage, it performed great with its new engine, fresh upholstered seats and shined nice in the sun. |

Excellent work on the dent fix!
Car looks like fun for sure. _________________ "...these cars were preferred by the racers because the strut front suspension results in far superior handling than the regular torsion bar front end..." - Keith Seume. |
