67rustavenger your bird looks great!
I use the Big Oak briquettes myself, I love them but they are kinda hard to get started. I'll have to try the Hay stack. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Come fall, i'll lay in bags of charcoal as around here the big bags go away being replaced with snow melt and lots of local places only sell the lighter infused bags of charcoal, which is nasty shit.
Had a neighbor take down an apple tree, so ive been able to use that the smoke with. Using fruit wood out of orchards has always skeeved my out, little concerened about pesticides in the wood. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

When I worked in Estonia 08-09. I used to take long bike rides in the country side east i=of the village I lived in.
I'd find apple trees along the roadway and break off dead limbs and carry them back to my apartment.
When I wanted something smoked. Out came the found apple wood.
I spotted a Yellow Weber at a neighbors house yesterday.
It was kinda like between mustard shade and a lemon peel shade.
Never seen one that color, let alone a blue one like crofty has. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I use a gravity fed smoker for long cooks, but the kettle is my go-to for ribs, wings, and hot and fast. It’s hard to beat wings cooked on the kettle with a vortex!

Learning the snake method was key for Weber kettle smoking. Also, a WiFi thermometer. |

I said "brands" not types.
Besides, pellets don't burn. I have a pellet gun. |

Love Webers, have late '60s Sequoia Avocado cart, plus many '70s models. No photo available til I somehow get a VW in the pic...
Edit, saw I had a Beetle fender display in background, so...

Love this site, so much info. This is my dream Weber, Meat Cut, refuse to pay the $2k when it shows up on Ebay, but I dig around, maybe....

Love that one myself.
A prototype of the first grill was made this year and i had high hopes weber was going to make them. instead they made the anniversary edition, which i dont care for.

Weber company is being sold. It will go private. Will be owned by its largest shareholder. I think it will no longer a premium grill. Would likely start seeing it at discount retailers. |
