I am wondering how hard it would be to use a classic buffer with 3m compound on a Thing. It seems the raised ridges on the entire body would make it impossible not to burn the paint. I have buffed many cars in my day, but this might be too much of a challenge. Perhaps there is a mini buffer.

Thoughts & ideas?

A 3" mini buffer works the best.

I used Griots complete compound with a 8" rotary polisher and soft foam pad. There was obviously paint transfer due to the single stage paint and heavy oxidation. But even on this original poorly treated paint it didn't burn. Just make sure to use a decent amount of product and to blow out the pad often.
