Hi All,

Does anyone have experience installing the reproduction split windshield molding and clips?

I’m having difficulty installing. I’m wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to install. I have various clips that don’t clip into the molding. I’ve messed with it for days and still have issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have made this years ago, I had the original rubber seal and molding + repro clips. It was important to check the orientation of the clips are correct way.

Thanks Mika! I’ve tried to orient them as best as possible. Seems the areas that have somewhat of a curve are the troublesome ones.

Also, thanks for all your parts!! They have been critical to my build.

Could it be that, like the later system, the molding has to be installed in the rubber on the glass before installing the glass in the car? Maybe the '51 - '52 workshop manual has the answer.

That was my thought- the trim needs to be installed in the seal before the window goes in the car. Is it different for splits?
