I was working on a guy's splitty and going over the brakes I was shocked to see that the drums were in perfect shape and were VW originals. How long has it been since VW supplied drums for split window buses? |

Generally car manufacturers quit supplying new parts at around 20 years from production. By the 1990s most VW dealerships were getting rid of any remaining air cooled stocks. There are still New Old Stock parts floating around today. I bought some NOS front drums for a 1962 bus last year.
How do the drums measure out? They can look good, but be out of spec. _________________ .
