they’re in the back on my bus. easy access from the back seat.
cranks still turn in the same direction.

Correct. That’s what I meant by “Cranks go to the rear.” As in placement in the rear for the backseat passengers.

I like the DS crank right behind the driver.. I can and do reach back to open and or close the window as needed.
I like them open while driving for the most part.. but sometimes have to close them after I've been driving.
IMO the backseat peeps can reach them at anytime/point..
live dangerously for a moment..
actually I don't have anyone back there but the dog.. and he's fond of the breeze. I don't really concern over anyone else who'd be back there and If so.. I can still close it from the driver's seat..
long winded way to say I like to control the window.. _________________

somewhere i picked up the fact, perhaps incorrect, that driving with them open was hard on them. loosened them up. _________________ 1978 Champaign Edition 2 Westfalia

Is the crank position "switchable" or is that a LH window mounted on the RH side? _________________ 1976 VW Transporter, 2.0 FI Engine |

the left hand is switchable if you take it all apart..and add a couple new parts to it. you can also put them in the opposite sides so the window cranks are at the front makes driving way easier _________________

Yes it’s a LH a window mounted on the RH side. |
I have the same. I can still reach the crank easily enough from the rear bench. _________________ 1976 VW Transporter, 2.0 FI Engine |

Just switch the window from one side to the other. Swapping just the mechanism would be more time consuming for someone. _________________ 1979 Westfalia Deluxe http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=474334&highlight=iowa |
