Yes! It was really cool, I wish I had gotten more pictures of it. I believe it is a Polo that has had it's doors removed and roof chopped off and some pieces riveted in to make a modern dune buggy.
Does anyone know any more about this thing?
|
That isn't a Polo. It looks like it is a Gol, that could be somewhat mistaken with a Fox. In any case, that is a product from VW Brazil. It is all logical that it looks like a Polo or Fox because it is a ... Volkswagen!
All that bodywork build done to it is nice! |

I’ve seen this one before. I saw this last Saturday at the local flea market. As I was taking these pics rain was starting to fall. This bus has active rust everywhere. I doubt the owner is going to do a proper restoration to address the tin worm. Looking close the corrosion is working at all the seams, it would be a massive undertaking even at this point.

A vestige of the late 60's establishment bias against counterculturalism ...

What a coincidence you from So Cal and me from Portland spotted busses yesterday in SF. I had breakfast with Tcash near Fisherman’s Wharf. He spotted two bay campers while looking for parking.
EB, no price on the bus. Just a phone number. |
Funny. You braved the weather also. We actually had brunch at a place called Sweet Maple in Japanese town, then went down to Fisherman's Wharf because the kids wanted to see the wax museum, and some of the ladies wanted to hit Ghirardelli square. We had gone to Alcatraz on Friday, and had dinner on Pier 39.
So even with the weather, we had a good time. Back to SoCal late last night, and back to work this afternoon. |

I like the chained off look - maybe I should employ those to keep people from opening their doors into the sides of the bus... _________________ Xargaret
