I want to add a deep sump to my buggy to carry a bit more oil but don't know if they all fit between the lower tubes of a rear buggy cage bumper. Anyone know the width between the lower tubes? Thanks.

This Thin Line Mini sump should fit your application.
It's no wider than the engine case.
IIRC, the Baja bumper lower bars pass under the PR Tubes. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Here is a SCAT 1-1/2qt sump on my buggy. The Scat sumps fit closer to case for more ground clearance. This buggy get used off road with a skid plate.
The wider sumps that hold 3-1/2qts like what Gene Berg sells can interfere with some rear bumper cages _________________ Joseph

I have that exact cage on my street Buggy. A sump would definitely fit between but it would hang down below. _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. (The mass media age) |

I'd like to add a deep sump on my air ride buggy build which has a 3" motor lift, it doesn't matter if it hangs a bit bellow the cage/bumper but I don't want to use the smallest sump either if I don't have to. What is the inside width of those lower tubes? The kit I was considering holds 1.5 quarts and is 10"W x9"L x2.75"D. https://www.cip1.ca/acc-c10-5974/

The best quality oil sump there is are the ones from Gene Berg. Made in America.
They are the strongest and will take a hit if you bottom out on the street.
Plus with the mounting hardware supplied you don’t have mess with changing studs.
I broke a cheap sump going up a hill in San Diego in 1973. No fun removing it in motel parking lot.
As with everything else from Empi, beware of cheap quality and casting flaw’s. _________________ Joseph

This Scat version from Cip1 looks to be the same as yours, specs check to be 2.75" tall which is the same as the Empi one. I'm sure this would do nicely, but unfortunately no one has stock.

I have bought my SCAT sumps directly from SCAT. Yes it did take several weeks to receive.
I always call Scat first before ordering to find out the lead time if something is not in stock.
The reason I an using a Scat sump is because buggies are used off road and fit tight against the case for ground clearance. If I used a Berg it would set further away from bottom of case and lose ground clearance.
Scat sumps are made in the USA and sealed against leakage. _________________ Joseph

Both my Berg and CB 4qrt sumps fit on my buggy with that same bumper. They did hang below it though. |

Thanks for the info guys. I contacted Cip1 with these questions but as always, never heard back from them. |
