Well it finally arrived, 1961 so34 flip seat sub hatch all the way from east coast Canada in NS to Alberta. I have know about this bus for years and I actually tried to buy it about 3 years ago but he wasn’t ready to sell. I recently seen he had a beetle for sale so I reached out once again and it was the right time. This is very similar to the one I use to own and regret selling in 2012 with just a different interior layout and a bit rougher condition. My old one was an so23. I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions as it was half torn apart when I got it. I sort of tried to piece it back together but I definitely need help with some things. Couple nice surprises was the spare tire table mount and the side awning. All other so34 bits seem to be gone

Congrats on the new SO34 and welcome to the club!! Looks to be mostly complete with the exception of most of the accessories unless you haven't posted any pictures of those.
The cabinets can be repaired if you go that route and looks like common lower rust repair so overall project should not be too terrible.
Good luck with it and ask a lot of questions and there's a lot of knowledgeable flipseat people in this forum.
BTW nice scalloped crew cab, I like it! |

At least you have the lions share of the interior!!
Are you missing the rear center seat steel frame??

I’m not sure what it’s supposed to look like. I have some sort of bracket that looks to bolt to the floor and a metal part on the bottom of the seat

Post an image. If it is the one , it should bolt to the front of the engine compartment.

Not at this time. I’m going to fix the rust , go through it mechanically and restore the interior. I don’t really care what the exterior looks like

Tim, check out these pictures from my SO34 and this is the frame that supports the sliding center rear seat. Juding by all the parts you have I'm sure you have it somewhere.

Yes I believe your correct. I tried to contact the person that found it but have not received a reply. It has gone through a couple different people since he has owned it. He had it for sale in 2012 when I sold my so23
