As the title says. Stock!
Aesthetic rules:
- Only absolute original cars, no lowering, no polished rims.
- A repaint in original colour is ok, sould be mentioned when known.
- Original interior including carpets, mats, upholstery and headliner, no TMI and similar.
- the cars don't need to be perfect. It is all about the specifications.
- only cars up to 7/1964. No big window cars! Never understood, why the forum says 1958-67. The change to big windows is an intervention at least as serious as the change of the headlights.
Technical rules:
- All pictures in one post.
- comments on details use only the relevant, quoted pictures. Not just quote the whole post with all pictures, the thread might explode!
- if you want to comment on a car in general, just take the first picture of the relevant car.
- Copy the explanation list of the car from the first entry and use it to explain the car you add. You can add significant information to the list.

In the blue car just above, what is the material in the trunk between the gas tank and the back of the dashboard? |

Even that I know, how this material feels when touching it, I cannot say what it is. Something like the material on the floor pans, like bitumen-coconut-cardboard. |

To be frank, this thread might not explode. Though I have a very original '63, it has TMI front seats so it's disqualified. But really, since this was started as a bus site- this reads a bit more like a "look what I've got" thread. Good luck. _________________

What luck is needed? It is not neccessary which car belongs to whom. I myself also use pictures from ads for this thread. It is only about the cars and their specifications. Because so much cars have changed details today, it might be of interest to have a living reference, beside the theoretical part of the technical section with all the lists of colours and upholstery.
When you don't like to see beetles discussed on a bus site, please don't visit this section. Unfortunately (for you), there is no other forum that goes so deep into the details of the cars and the history of changements, so all the beetles-freaks meet here.
I think, Everett can be proud with the development this site took over the years. Also with all other types from Volkswagen and categories of models, books, documentation and other automobila. The beetle section here is big and important to so many people over the world that I don't see any reason to doubt its right to exist!

This said by someone, who has a list of his vehicles in the signature... to someone using pictures of ads....

information:
Pictures from a classified ad. Rear lights have been changed during the 60ies because of new German regulations. Warning lights had to be installed. That often went along with a steerig lock and a warning light switch in place of the ignition switch in the dash board. The car has a Kienzle clock. Original last year headlight lenses, asymmetrical with VW Logo.

You have flawed logic- Even in your title you say "show me your original..." I had no idea you used pics of other peoples cars since you did not reference them. It reads like a show off of your garage.
Now reread your posts and style, read my response and see if you think my remarks might actually have a little merit.
As for this site- there are enough people who get on here and gripe because there isn't an exact thread based on their preference- especially in beetles forums. 58-67 is a very universally-accepted grouping. I visit sections that interest me as an owner.
Carry on- consider referencing the owners of cars you list _________________

Under the title aspect I can understand, why you got it wrong. I have changed the title now. My idea was more the reference thing.
But you may have overlooked something:
When you reread this thread, under the point "information" you will find already stated, when the pictures came from classified ads. On the other hand it is not important. This thread is about cars only - not about their owner or people in general. Creating a thread about this is a little bit unfortunate, normally it would be better to create a well arranged chart, where the cars are sorted after model year, model and colour and where it is easier to change pictures when better ones are available. |

In Germany, these rear lights have been introduced in May 1961 following new German laws. VW continued using the egg style rear lights on all cars for the foreign countries, also the European ones until July 1961.
That must have caused a double stock of rear light parts for three months. Perhaps they had produced so much of them so they didn't want to scrap the old style ones. |

I know, in Italy until July 1961 VW used 50/50 rear lights _________________ LOOKING FOR 62 ENGINE WITH NUMBER FROM 6.904.xxx TO 6.915.xxx

Keep the thread coming! I appreciate you for pulling the photos you have.
After owning it for 20 years finally about to get going on the resto of my European market 60. I bought it in 2001 or 2002, as a "solid early car" to build up. Thankfully, for various reasons the furthest I got was removing the rear clip to do some rust repair.
In 2023, the original plans I had for the car are mostly nixed. It will still have some mods, but considering the relative rarity of the car, I want to keep it very stock, especially the interior. Post oval windows, in the US seems like everything had vinyl TMI like seats. Its cool to see what this stuff is SUPPOSED to look like. _________________ 60 Euro Beetle
