These have been out for awhile and I'm wondering how I can get more travel out of mine. I find I get somewhere around 12-15 degrees before I start hearing clacking. I'm only able to get around 10" of travel which seems awful low. (Am I right to think this?)
Anyway, I'm preparing to upgrade from my useless airbag suspension to some kind of coilover setup. I want to incorporate some kind of sag setting(ride height I've heard should be 40% of travel) which will limit my travel somewhat but work the way it's supposed to. With the bags your limited and if you want the most support you give up any upward travel, meaning ride height is always the top of your travel. Basically where ever your limit straps stop.
So I'm asking if anyone knows of a good write-up on massaging these race preps to get the most articulation so I can get my shock setup right the first time. _________________ Brian H.

Found some vids about clocking and polishing. I'm sure I clocked em when I installed but since my angles don't match what others have I need to take these apart and check things. They have very little use but I imagine a cleaning and some new grease wouldn't be a bad thing.
Leave suggestions if you want in the meantime

I have the empi race cv’s, type 2, that are advertised at up to 22 degrees range, as I remember and. When I set the spring plate stop for maximum travel before binding I measured about 21 degrees. All I did was clock them. You must be using type 1 cv’s but I would suspect they should make the maximums travel/degrees advertised. |

Sorry guys. I finally got out to the shop to check myself. They're running around 19 degrees which isn't as terrible as I thought. I think i just got confused ( common these days ) after installing new limit straps. My old were stretching too far. I felt like in the process I had to limit a lot more than in the past. But i was full of it. Measure first next time, then complain. _________________ Brian H.
