Round if you imagine yourself driving the Baja 500, rectangle if you have any sense of design. Amber lens is usually for fog lights, white for driving lights…

If you are keeping the headlights then stick with square. Brickwerks sells the correct brackets for them.

I'll be running those exact rectangle units on my '83. They're almost exactly what VW had as an optional accessory. I bought a set of the Brickwerks repro brackets and they are NICE!

IMO square with square looks better.

However most probably the round has better light projection

Round.

Square foglights only if they are recessed.

There is a bunch of crash important structural steel from under the rectangular outer headlight down to the bumper, so a light could only be recessed if located directly under the square high beam. On the DS there is some stuff which prevents direct observation of recess possibility there. It may be possible, but I haven't explored enough to know for sure.

Square if your keeping stock headlights. I think its better aesthetically. Light out put might be better with round depending on brand of light! Mine's an 82 so I prefer round personally Laughing

I'd go square with square and round with round, but definitely a little zinc with flat tappets Wink

If you are adding “driving” lights (narrow beam illuminating the road 100 meters ahead), then the above-bumper location you show is preferred. If mounting “fog” lights (wide dispersed beam with sharp upper cutoff), then you may wish to consider a below-bumper location.

Razz No problem with a mix and match here. Fog Lights went where the RMW mounts already fit them. But, the lower an Auxiliary Light is mounted, the more I’ve lost a lens on one in the past when using them.

For lights mounted down on the bumper I'd go rectangular just because everything else down there is rectangular.

Way back when I had my steel bumpers I couldn't wait to put on a pair of Hella's.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

After I got my RMW bumpers the Hella's really didn't fit in well. I chose a 20" light bar to light up campground roads at night.

Thinking back I don't think I ever used those Hella's once and I have that light bar a lot. You'll figure out what works best for you
