|
|
Hi, I'm trying to use the VW294 plate to set the shift forks, but it seems like I have the wrong jig forks. I have the VW294b/3 that are too long, and the VW294b/4 that are too short.
My trans is 4 bolt pinion style.
Can anyone tell me what is the correct studs that I need to use (what is the length?)
Here are pics with my trans on the jig using the VW294b/4 :

Scott has a good tip....I would say that I didn't always measure it the full deep.
I found it a lot easier for me to put a straight edge across the top and then one of the spacers inside the case and use feeler gauges up top to see what's needed.
Some aftermarket and steel sleeve cases you'll have to figure out the difference and how you want to set the jig up to do it.
You can get shims for the stand offs, or change the pinion shim stack at times to mimic it right. _________________ T1 IRS Rebuild Book on Lulu.com
