Other than the obvious, later years offered different colors. Is there any difference in early vs late type 3 fender beading. I can tell the difference between notch vs square and fastback. I am talking length. Please advise.

I believe the upper front fender/cowel portion is shorter on later models. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

So, to answer my own question, I found out that late front type 3 beading is 2" shorter on the front cowl
and 3" longer on the apron section.
What this may help many type 3 owners is that if you can find useable late front fender beading, you will have enough of the ELUSIVE T profile beading for the rear apron on Squarebacks and Fastbacks.
Square and Fasty rear aprons need only about 10" of T profile beading, and Late type 3 front beading has an excess of 19"
Hope this helps many of you who are looking for those ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to find rear apron fender beadings for your project.
I have several pieces in white if any one is interested.

I think the short spot at the top may be shrinkage. When I restored the 62 Anthracite notch it was short and I had Anthracite early beading. And I do also remember it being long at the bottom. I heated it and pulled it to fit. Maybe the changes in the profile from T to O make it do this shrinking weird over time? No se?

I agree with you Mr Notchboy, shrinkage does occur, I recall selling a diamond blue front hood handle seal and getting negative feedback for not fitting. Though I just learned late beading us shorter on the front cowl section and longer on the Front apron by a few inches. _________________ I'd be UNSTOPPABLE if not for Law Enforcement and PHYSICS.

Why would it be shorter up by the front cowl? That section is the same on all Type 3s, no? Or are you going by your side by side comparison - which is why I said shrinkage. _________________
