I have a ‘68 SB with EFI. long story short one of the exhaust head studs broke off and in trying to tap for new threads the head got too thin on outer part and cracked. I’m guessing it can be fixed but I want a replacement first. The head is stamped 311 101 375 A with “VW” below it and a “5” next to that. Side note…what’s the “5” about? Anyway the head has the head temp sensor. What are my options?
thanks. |

No idea what the "5" is for. The big question is where is your current temp sensor located? By the exhaust port? Or on top by the end of the head? Just asking as most of the newer replacement heads have the port/fitting location on the top, and will need a hole in the cooling tin for the sensor to pass thru. You'll also need a rubber boot for that hole. I hope this helps. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
