I have problems with my passenger door. The latch pull on the inside works fine. The outside is another thing.
When I adjust the strike plate all the way towards the center of the car. The door is really close to flush. But the outside latch will not open even when pulling the latch with two fingers and pushing in on the door.
When I adjust the striker all the way out. The door is not flush. It sticks out about a quarter inch from the rear quarter panel. When I pull on the outside latch with two fingers it will open. Not easy, but it will open.
When I take the handle off and use a finger to push on the lock mechanism inside the door, it opens very easy. It opens easily whether the strike plate is adjusted all the way in... or all the way out.
Any suggestions? Start with replacing the handle? |

Pull the handle and check the finger lever portion that contacts the lock mechanism. It's common for them to crack in that area. If it is cracked, it can flex and won't have enough pressure to actuate the lock mechanism. _________________ Kafer_Mike
